Synchronize your mobile

Dear Users,
You can now be on the move; and access all your information through
eDeskOnline. Enjoy synchronization with your eDeskOnline. No need to
maintain two sets of information.

Synchronize your Contacts
You go to a seminar, and exchange business-cards with a potential client using your mobile. Synchronization takes place between your mobile and eDesk Online. The client's contact details now appear in the address book on your eDesk Online account and your secretary can now follow up on it.

Synchronize your Calendar
Your secretary sets an alert on eDeskOnline using her computer. Synchronization takes place between eDeskOnline and your mobile. The meetings which your secretary sets up now show up on your mobile.

And the best part is that you dont need a PDA to do all this. A starter mobile handset (available from US$100 / Rs. 4000 onwards) is sufficient.

Handset compatibility requirements

Java MIDP 2.0 / CLDC 1.2
JSR75 (PIM)
GPRS / WAP
2MB Memory
Support for minimum 500Kb Jar Files

You will also need a GPRS / WAP connection from your mobile operator. Such facilities are comonly available from cell operators at 25 cents per month onwards upto a maximum of US $ 2 per month for unlimited usage.

The one time set-up

To install it on your mobile point your mobile browser to http://www.edeskonline.mobi/midlets/eDeskOnline.jad
Your mobile will now download an application to your mobile and install it.
An icon will appear in your applications menu.

You can now run eDeskOnline application from your applications menu whenever you wish.

Security:

eDeskOnline application is written using Java (J2ME) which runs it in a separate environment thereby removing any risk of damage to your mobile software.
Also no data can be read or transferred from your mobile without your knowledge or permission. Everytime eDeskOnline makes a connection to the internet or tries to read/write data to your mobile, Java will ask for your permission.
If you wish to give eDeskOnline a one-time permission and avoid giving permissions everytime, you can do so by going to your application settings.
